The School of Electronic Engineering of Xidian University is the pioneering department in China to offer degree programs such as radar, microwave antenna and information technology.

The School currently has three postgraduate degrees (Electronic Science and Technology, Information and Communication Engineering, Control Science and Engineering) and three undergraduate degrees (Electronic Information Engineering, Information Countermeasures Technology, Electromagnetic Field and Wireless Technology).

The school has built a well-structured and innovative faculty including 1 innovative group in “National Natural Science Foundation of China”, 2 innovative groups in “Ministry of Education of China” and 3 innovative groups in key area in “Ministry of Science and Technology of China”. Besides, the school has defined the basic connotation of student-oriented teaching management and cultivated students with virtue and patriotism. The school has set up 3 innovative training classes, “Excellent Engineers Class”, “Excellent Theory Class” and “Xidian-Polytech Educational Program”, adhering to the education concept of “cultivating students based on their aptitude”. The students have won prizes in various national-level science and technology competitions. The employment rate of graduates and undergraduates has remained above 99.4% and 95%.

Over the past 70 years, the school has repeatedly broken through technical blockades and created numerous “Firsts”, such as the first weather radar and the first programmable radar signal processor in China. The school made a number of landmark achievements in the fields of radar, antenna and microwave, information security and artificial intelligence.

During 70 years’ operation, the school has trained a large number of well-known scholars, managers, and more than 30,000 outstanding talents in related fields in electronic information, making important contributions to national construction and social progress. Adhering to the mission of taking responsibilities of serving the national strategy, the school has been steadfast to connotative development, strengthened interdisciplinary education, and committed to training composite talents with patriotism and international vision.
