| Lecture Abstract |
What is research? What is the difference between papers and patents? How to maximize the impact of your work? In this non-technical talk, I will address three issues facing most engineering graduate students in their career development: papers, patents and people. Influential papers change the way we think about the world and ourselves; innovative patents expedite the evolution of technology and business; but eventually it is people surrounding you that can transform and reshape your career. I hope my collected wisdom through personal experience can help younger minds reach higher objectives in their professional development. |
